Recently, Pearl Electric’s project of R&D and industrialization of pumped storage super large capacity converter dry-type transformer won separately the year of 2020 the first prize of Guangdong mechanical industry science & technology award and the first prize of Guangdong mechanical engineering institute science & technology award.
 
The pumped storage super large capacity converter dry-type transformer researched and developed by Pearl Electric is key equipment in pumped storage power station, applied to converter system.
 
By putting out the accurate calculation method, such as dry transformer axial double-split impedance, temperature field, lightning impulse wave process excitation flow, etc., Pearl Electric developed manufacturing process of foil-winding and casting for large capacity and large current winding, completing innovatively the research of large capacity converter dry-type transformer. Though this research, it reduce greatly temperature rise of transformer which has obvious energy saving effect.
 
The project transformer has passed all the routine test, type test and special test in National Intelligent Power Grid Transportation and Distribution Equipment Quality Supervision and Inspection Center. After the result appraisal organized by Guangdong mechanical engineering institute, our project get a high review: the project has obvious advantages in the same kind of technology at home and abroad; the overall technology is in the international advanced level; the accurate controlling in large-capacity variable flow dry transformer impedance, excitation flow reached leading level in the world.
 
Through the wining of the prize, Pearl Electric continues to show our ability of technical innovation to the public.
With the "14th Five-Year Plan" in-depth promotion of hydropower green development and coastal nuclear power safety and steady development, Pearl Electric will keep on carving on the R&D on the subject of construction of pumped storage power station, following the energy development strategy to improve green, cycling, low-carbon transmission and transformation equipment manufacturing.
